Thank EWE for Coming to the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza 2017

WOW….Well what can we say?  We had a fabEWElous time at the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza on April 1st and 2nd and we hope EWE did too.  With over 70 incredibly talented exhibitors, fashion parades, a real couples parade, live demos, a treasure hunt, and a party with enough glitter to cover everyone for 2 days straight, this has got to be our BEST SHOW EVER!!

On top of all this, we also got to meet such unique and wonderful couples through out the weekend who had some BAAAAdass plans for their big day. We had such an amazing range of visitors walk through our doors on both days so we hope everyone found exactly what they were looking for. We know all our suppliers are totally diverse so we hope EWE found the product or service as unique as you are.

We had so much of a blast over this incredible weekend that we want to tell EWE all about it.  For those of you who didn’t get to make it to our show or who just want to relive the day all over again, read all about it below and be sure to take a look at at some of the awesome images from the weekend.  Trust me, there are plenty!

Our amazing show photographer for the weekend was the awesome Ninjographer herself, Jay from Jay Emme Photography. Giving superhero “The Flash” a run for his money, I honestly don’t think Jay sat still the entire weekend as she literally shot anything that moved, breathed or made a peep in her direction. We don’t know how she does it?  With so many stands and incredible couples at the show, we are so grateful Jay was there to capture every one of them.  We really can’t thank her enough and if EWE like the look of all the awesome shots of the show, why not check out her website.

We are also so lucky to be able to hold our eclectic fair in one of the most unique venue’s in Birmingham. The Bond Company is an absolute hidden gem!  Located in the heart of Digbeth, this venue truly is an incredible site. With it’s beautiful cobble stoned entrance, vast array of ideal ceremony or reception rooms, amazing urban and industrial architecture, this really is the ideal location for an city based wedding.  It’s safe to say our exhibitors and ourselves took over every inch of this wonderful place…and Jay has the photo’s to prove it.

As well as all the beautiful indoor spaces this venue provides, they also have an amazingly scenic canal side courtyard where our food trucks, bands and other entertainment got to show off their stuff.  This honestly is such an ideal space and location for any couples looking for a unique venue with some picturesque surroundings.  If you didn’t get the chance to attend our show and your looking for the location for your big day, why not  have a look on their website to see all this one of a kind venue has to offer.

We also wanna say a massive “THANK EWE” to our wonderful media partner Erica from Mr and Mrs Unique.  Erica has been so supportive in the build up to our Eclectic weekend and we had so much fun working with her.  Mr and Mrs Unique is the go-to, award winning online directory, blog & magazine that features the most spectacularly diverse, creative and extraordinary wedding suppliers in the UK.  These magnificent suppliers (a few familiar faces you may recognise from our flock) have all been hand selected for their originality and excellence and all want to help EWE plan your big day.

Erica also kindly brought her amazing and brand new magazine to the fair which is chocked full with some of the awesome Mo Flo’s from our show . If you didn’t get a chance to pick up your copy, why not pop over to her website where you can view it online, order your own copy or have a look through some of the amazing businesses she has to offer.

Over the weekend our lovely wedding attire suppliers got to show EWE exactly what they could do. We had the gorgeous and alternative bridal wear from Found Bespoke Bridal, Legends Bridal Design, Rosie Red Corsetry and Couture and The Couture Company and sassy bridesmaids attire from Curious Coco. The fabulous frocks from all these companies truly stole the show as each amazing model made their way through our venue. On the Saturday, these BAAAdass babes strutted their stuff in our awesome fashion walkabout. One of these lovely ladies was Emily from Mermaid Gossip who managed to model some amazing outfits as well as taking a vlog of the day!! Be sure to check out her video as well as some amazing pics of the walkabout below

On the Sunday, our Real Couples parade was lead by the funky sounds of Heavy Beat Brass Band. This amazing New Orleans inspired brass ensemble led the way as all the real brides and grooms showed us just what they got in some seriously unique outfits. These incredible couples got to don their actual wedding attire that was made for them by one of the bridal companies mentioned above.  Each of  these amazing designers make to order so if you see the dress you love why not get it made just for EWE.  They all also offer a bespoke service so if EWE love their style but want something EWEnique, why not get in touch to get an incredible outfit for you big day.

Of course we couldn’t just stop the fun there. On the Saturday evening we decided to throw a Mother Flocking PAAARRRRTYYY where Mo Flo’s and couples could relax and dance the night away.  Our venue for the night was the awesome art gallery that is Centrala, where couples and Mo’ Flo’s got to really let their fleeces down, drink a cocktail (or 2) as well as checking out some of the amazingly talented music and entertainment.

Getting the party started and everyone up on their feet were the DJ skills of both the awesome Discowed and Deckheds. For our “Bowie” based section of the night, we got to rock to some tunes from The Major Toms, check out some magic antics by the awesome Jester Styles while the fabEWElous light up letters from Doris Loves directed us to the “BAAAAR”.

We (and everyone else in the venue) got all glittered up by the girls from Wish Upon a Sparkle and took our turn in the fantastic green screen photobooth by Jelly Photography. What a magnificent night we had and we were so lucky to spend it with EWE (and get some photo’s too)

Our sunny Sunday show was just as lovely (with surprisingly very few fragile faces).  The amazing couples and visitors continued to rock up to our flock and continue the fun all over again. With some photobooth antics, a real brides parade, a brass band hula hooping and even one of our attendees professing her love for our sheep (now named sheila, video is featured below.  Trust me, you will not regret watching it) this one was just as awesome as the day before!!

On top of all this we also had  Kat from the kickass blog and magazine Rock N’ Roll Bride come to our show! Kat was selling her awesome alternative wedding magazine, her stationary and wedding pin collaboration with Veronica Dearly and her headpiece and veil collaboration with Crown and Glory. As if that wasn’t enough, Kat also managed to take a vlog through out the weekend.  So if EWE wanna see some of the show in action why not check out the video below:

We want to say a MASSIVE “THANK EWE” to every couple who came to the show to meet all the wonderful suppliers that make up our Mo’ Flo’s. We still have a link to all our suppliers in the “Mother Flockers” section of our website so if you want to see more from this fantastic eclectic flock, why not check them out.

We hope you all had an amazing time at the show and we love that we got to help, inspire or be a part of your big day. Thank EWE.
